I never know when inspiration for a new series is going to strike. After I finished my Bad Boy Ranch series, I was driving near Austin, Texas, when I spotted this big castle of a house sitting on a hill. I thought...wouldn't it be fun to put a castle on a ranch and have a fairytale-themed series about a big family of cowboy and cowgirl princes and princesses. Kingman Ranch was born! It's my version of what would happen if you mixed contemporary western romances with classic fairytales--Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Snow White, Little Mermaid. What happned was a fun series that I LOVED writing. Not only do I love the Kingman siblings, who like a lot of fairytale characters lost their parents--but I also loved the townsfolk of Cursed, Texas. Miss Kitty, the feisty mailwoman who delivers the mail and the town gossip. Her archenemy, Hester Malone, the town fortuneteller. Uncle Jack, the ornery ol' cuss who runs Nasty Jack's bar. Mystic Malone, Hester's granddaughter, who runs the town salon and has special powers of her own. I enjoyed writing all of them. I hope y'all will enjoy meeting them as much.
